DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high in the future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
