Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility due to alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for instance if a person is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related crime that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug treatment program as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they can to benefit from this chance. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be totally eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehab instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties.
