DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high down the road.
