Dual Diagnosis - Hickory

Dual diagnosis is a circumstance whereby two independent disorders exist, and most often describes a co-occurring drug abuse and mental health disorder. A dual diagnosis will help someone who may not have been capable of being helped before, put an end to substance abuse because they can be properly diagnosed and treated. Their mental health disorder may have been misdiagnosed, undiagnosed, or treated incorrectly which may have prompted and led to their substance abuse problems. Establishing the truth that someone is certainly a dual diagnosis client not simply helps establish an efficient treatment course for them, but will also help clients better determine what triggered their drug use and the way to prevent it later on. Addressing dual diagnosis may be a more extensive process when compared to a typical drug rehab program, and folks with a dual diagnosis might need to participate in a substantial aftercare program that might include proper medical support in addition to further rehab services. Being identified as having co-occurring disorders doesn't signify the individual will need to be medicated for the remainder of their lives either, and actually a lot of people who have a dual diagnosis experience much better results when treated holistically and when alternative treatment methods are employed.
