DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be required to go to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This may certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence later on. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
