DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for substance abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
