Partial day rehab centers treat drug or alcohol use disorders and mental health disorders which may be co-occurring. Within a partial day rehab center the individual takes part in various rehabilitation activities throughout the day and then returns home later in the day, anywhere from five to seven days a week. Partial day rehab centers are an ideal option for alcohol or drug addicted individuals who may not be able to afford inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation, or who might not be able to be apart from their loved ones during inpatient or residential rehab. While in a partial day rehab center, individuals take part in group, one-on-one and even family therapy and counseling for substance abuse issues while addressing whatever mental health disorder is ailing them. It is very important to address both issues simultaneously if there is any hope for individuals maintaining any sort of long-term abstinence and be able to regain a healthy lifestyle. This will take several months simply because that it is a part-time rehab option, but it will likely be worth it for the treatment client as well as their families in the long run when they can move forward with a new beginning.
