Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug treatment center because of a drug or alcohol related offense. This can occur for instance if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to think that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol treatment program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the court it is wise that the individual try everything they can to make the most of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug rehabilitation facility which has been ordered for them. Very first time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
