DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug treatment as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while drunk or high in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
