Often, parents and other adults can spot indicators that a teen is involved in substance abuse and may need help some time before the problem becomes severe. The important thing is to intervene without delay, and never hold off until the issue is more serious, and as a result many negative consequences may be avoided. Teen drug addiction treatment may either be offered within an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which helps clients of all ages, or perhaps an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center which specifically handled teen drug addiction. The second is obviously preferred, since this will ensure that the individual receives the right quantity of attention and that rehab professionals can focus on the needs of these younger clients which might be very different than their adult counterparts. There are a variety of different settings in which teen drug addiction treatment can take place, including therapeutic communities, residential alcohol and drug rehab centers, wilderness programs, and in many cases boot camp type centers. Teen drug addiction treatment will most often include one-on-one therapy, group therapy with their peers, and a number of rehab services aimed at addressing the challenges and issues which relate to a teen's life particularly.
