DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while drunk or high in the future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
