Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation program on account of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone else is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to think the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they're able to to take full advantage of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehabilitation facility which was ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience treatment in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
