DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of remaining out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
