Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of alcohol and drug treatment program because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example if a person is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to believe the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it's well advised that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences might be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
