Residential short-term rehab for drug abuse delivers rehab services to people within a residential setting for 30 days or less. This type of treatment is often paid for by private medical health insurance, and Medicaid and Medicare in some instances if deemed necessary. During residential short-term rehabilitation for less than 30 days, rehabilitation clients will probably be detoxed if it hasn't already been done prior to arriving at treatment, and they can take part in treatment services for about 30 days. These types of services can vary based on the alcohol and drug rehab facility of choice, and definitely will typically include a moderate amount of both group and individual therapy. If an individual isn't content with their progress in drug and alcohol rehabilitation after the 30-day period comes to an end, it is advisable to seek further alcohol and drug treatment services at a more long-term center. It isn't uncommon for this to be so, as rehabilitation clients in residential short-term treatment are barely able to overcome acute physical effects of their alcohol or drug addiction and dependence in this short time. Once one has completed a residential short-term treatment plan of less than 30 days, and if more intensive rehabilitation isn't possible, the individual should receive intensive aftercare at the minimum.
