DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated later on. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
