DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to rehab either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
