DUI/DWI clients who are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehab either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
