DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehab facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while intoxicated down the road. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
