Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug and alcohol treatment program on account of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related offense which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they are able to to get the most from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that is ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience rehab in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
