Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehab facility because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example if someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led a legal court to think the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
