Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of alcohol and drug treatment facility because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for instance if someone else is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to think the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the court it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehab center that has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective treatment.
