Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation center due to alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related offense that has led a legal court to think the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered from the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences might be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that is ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to jail time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehab.
