Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for instance when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led the court to believe the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered from the court it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug rehab center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that experience rehabilitation in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
