DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be required to go to rehab either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
