DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab programs are generally there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their substance abuse if they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
