Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of alcohol and drug treatment program because of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will happen for instance when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to believe that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the drug and alcohol rehab facility that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to jail time or similar consequences.
