Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug treatment facility due to a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for example if a person is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to think the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences might be entirely eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab facility which was ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
