Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of drug rehab program due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example if a person is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the court it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehab program which was ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do take part in treatment in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
