Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment facility because of a drug or alcohol related offense. This can occur for example if someone else is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the court it is well advised that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehab center that has been ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
