DUI/DWI clients who are involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are generally there on their own accord, but usually in drug rehab due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while intoxicated down the road. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
