DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while under the influence in the future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
