DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be ordered to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their substance abuse should they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
