DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab programs are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This may certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while drunk or high later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
