Long-term rehabs that provide treatment for 30 days are more provide an intensely beneficial setting for client's whose treatment demands require this, as may be the case with most those that have a significant track record of drug or alcohol use. It is the consensus among rehabilitation experts, and time has shown, that folks with significant substance abuse histories have much higher long-term results when the rehabilitation length is 30 days or more. Even more significant benefits are evident for all those clients who stay in long-term residential rehab for 90 days or longer. The intensive rehab plans set up at long-term residential rehabs may be more time consuming for rehabilitation specialists and the client, but anything less has been shown to be insufficient. This can be primarily because anything less than 30 days is barely going to scratch the surface of any drug or alcohol use issue that may plague the person after they leave rehab. Just becoming physically stable may take many days or maybe a couple weeks, but a great deal of time after this is needed to deal with the lifestyle changes and, emotional, and mental facets of their addiction that could cause a relapse after they leave an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility.
