DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
