DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence down the road. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
