Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug rehab facility as a result of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for instance if someone else is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the court it is wise that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehab facility that has been ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
