DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehab programs are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
