Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug treatment program on account of alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for example if a person is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug treatment program that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that experience rehab in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
