Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehab facility as a result of alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for instance when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to think that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered from the court it's wise that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be completely eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug rehab program that is ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
