DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are generally there on their own accord, but usually in drug rehab due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug abuse should they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
