Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center because of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for instance if a person is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led the court to believe the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug treatment program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered by the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. New offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience treatment instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
