DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in alcohol and drug rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high in the future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
