DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders may be ordered to treatment either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of staying out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated down the road. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
