DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug rehabilitation due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse.
