Temporary housing, like in a halfway house or transitional living facility, is really a living environment which will help someone that is recovering from drug abuse make a constructive and productive transition to a more healthy lifestyle. If someone else has successfully stopped using drugs on their own, or more often with the help of an effective drug and alcohol rehab facility, it is advisable that they maintain some form of aftercare regiment which temporary housing may be a part of. This is a decision that individuals make with the help and guidance of their rehabilitation counselors when their period in drug and alcohol rehabilitation comes to an end, whether it is decided that they're going to need additional support to maintain their abstinence and while they get on their feet. Temporary housing is extremely affordable in many instances, and may even be paid by one's health insurance or possibly funded through some type of federal or state grant. Whatever the case, temporary housing gives a drug-free living environment for those who have recovered from any type of addiction, and is an excellent opportunity to be in the presence of constructive support while the process of getting one's life back together is next.
