Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehab facility due to a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for instance if a person is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences might be completely eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug treatment facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to jail time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
