Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehab program because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for instance if someone else is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related offense that has led the court to believe that the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered from the court it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug treatment center which was ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
