DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug treatment centers are either there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be ordered to rehab either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
